XRP Ledger upgrade in sight: Verifier support rate exceeds 55%
XRP Ledger is one step closer to activating its xrpld v3.2.0 upgrade, and more than 55% of trusted verifiers have adopted the latest software version. According to XRP Ledger browser data, a total of 84 trusted verifiers (55.63% of the total number of verifiers) are running xrpld v3.2.0. In contrast, version 3.1.3 remains active on 58 validators (38.41%) and 440 nodes (52.51% of the entire network).
What is included in the v3.2.0 upgrade
XRP Ledger version 3.2.0 covers network-wide infrastructure improvements, bug fixes, and developer feature enhancements. One of the major changes is that in accordance with the XLS-0095 proposal, the main server software name was officially renamed from rippled to xrpld. This software identity reshaping clearly strengthens the decoupling relationship between decentralized public ledger and Ripple; at the same time, technical optimization adjusts the back-end architecture, reducing overall verifier server memory consumption by 30% to 40%.
Along with the software release, the development team also introduced the fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment. According to released documents, the amendment contains a number of security-related fixes, involving single asset vaults, loan agreements, licensed decentralized exchanges, multi-function tokens, and licensed domain names. In addition, the update allows developers and users to access XRP Ledger protocol information and server definitions without running a full server, a change designed to simplify the integration process of wallets, APIs, blockchain browsers and other automated services.
Conditions that still need to be met before activation
Under network governance rules, an amendment to the agreement requires the support of more than 80% of trusted verifiers and lasts for two weeks before it can be activated. Based on current data, about a quarter of validators will need to migrate to v3.2.0 before the upgrade can enter the activation phase. Although validator support for software versions continues to rise, support for the accompanying fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment is still well below the activation threshold-currently only about 40%.
Ripple has publicly expressed support for the amendment, which helps increase confidence in the proposed changes. Security company Halborn completed a third-party audit of two amendments before the agreement entered the mainnet verifier voting stage, further safeguarding the loaning-related fixes included in the update. Developers are also continuing to monitor validator migration issues marked in the project\'s GitHub tracker, but so far no documented flaw has caused service outages across the network.
