BNB Chain is developing a new Layer 1 blockchain focused on proxy transactions
This chain adds an independent execution environment for autonomous transaction brokers, orders on high-frequency chains and self-managed market activities. The new chain will run in parallel with the existing BNB Chain architecture and will not replace BNB Smart Chain, opBNB or BNB Greenfield. The goal is to create an execution layer that allows users and AI agents to process orders faster while maintaining self-custody of assets, thereby narrowing the gap between centralized exchange speed and on-chain settlement.
The goal of this architecture is to limit the transaction pre-confirmation time to less than 50 milliseconds. This will bring BNB Chain\'s trading system closer to the response speed of a centralized exchange (CEX)-critical in an environment where execution delays can determine whether automated strategies can be profitable or whether profits will be stolen by faster market participants.
Private order streams replace public memory pools
The new chain is expected to remove traditional public memory pools and adopt a transaction transfer system called TxStream. Under this model, transactions are sent directly to the block producer and are not publicly visible before being included in the block.
Private order flow is the core selling point of proxy transactions. Public memory pools expose pending transactions, making trading robots and human users vulnerable to pre-emptive trading, sandwich attacks, and policy duplication. Private memory pools provide transaction agents with a cleaner execution path because orders are not broadcast to competing searchers before they reach block production.
BNB Chain has previously deployed confidential transactions and agency execution. Its privacy stack includes memory pool exposure protection for AI transaction agents, while the AI agent infrastructure supports autonomous on-chain activities covering transactions, payments, and data access.
This new Layer 1 extends this work from the tool level to the basic execution level. It provides a dedicated venue for BNB Chain for autonomous trading systems that require fast settlement, reduced information disclosure, and programmable control that eliminates the need to hand over custody to a centralized exchange.
AI proxy stack moves towards execution layer
BNB Chain\'s AI proxy strategy has expanded into areas such as identity, payments, wallet and autonomous execution. The network\'s proxy framework covers on-chain AI agents that conduct transactions, access data, and interact, introducing user types to this new Layer 1 that transcend ordinary DeFi traders.
This move is part of a broader trend towards machine-driven payments and transactions in the cryptocurrency space. Coinbase\'s x402 protocol handles 160 million proxy payments, while BNB Chain builds around AI proxy identities, cryptocurrency payments and automated execution.
In addition, BNB Chain has also entered the project with its strong retail users and stablecoin base. Earlier this year, as Polygon, Base, Celo and Arbitrum competed for low-cost payment and transfer traffic, BNB Chain led the way in stablecoin user activity.
This new Layer 1 is scheduled to be launched on the test network at the end of 2026, and the target time for the main network is early 2027.
