Traders sue over Polymarket\'s \"no\" ruling on \"strategic bitcoin sale\"

Two Polymarket traders have sued the Prediction Market Platform, accusing it of later tampering with rules to refuse to pay betting bonuses related to Strategy\'s bitcoin sale

William Wood and Thomas Bush filed a lawsuit in the New York Supreme Court on July 3, naming Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan and chief marketing officer Matthew Modabber as defendants. The complaint alleges that the platform temporarily revised market rules after the user won and denied the compensation it deserved.

The core question for the market involved is simple: Will Strategy sell any bitcoins before May 31? The company, led by Michael Saylor, did-it disclosed in a June 1 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it sold 32 bitcoins, worth approximately $2.5 million, between May 26 and May 31. This is the company\'s first Bitcoin sale since 2022.
