Key Points
UNL verified that nodes have exceeded the upgrade threshold, but the overall node adoption rate of XRPL still lags behind.
The fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment has not yet reached the required 80% activation support rate.
Nearly a month after Ripple released xrpld v3.2.0, data shows that of the 828 XRP ledger nodes, 357 (43%) have been upgraded, while 51% of nodes are still in v3.1.3.
This upgrade highlights a recurring governance model: consensus on verification nodes is advancing much faster than the broader node ecosystem.
Meanwhile, the Bitcoin and Ethereum markets showed typical volatility, while XRP fell 3.5% in 24 hours, trading at close to $1.09, and daily trading volume was approximately $1.54 billion. The $1.10 level poses short-term resistance, and market participants are watching whether it can continue to break through this level.
Verification node adoption rate exceeds required threshold
Although the overall node adoption rate is below 50%, 89% of verification nodes in the unique node list (31 of 35) are already running v3.2.0. The XRP ledger requires an UNL participation rate of 80% to be considered adopted, which means that the new version has actually reached a consensus on verification nodes. Non-UNL nodes do not need to be upgraded immediately, but the incentive mechanism may change once the relevant amendment is activated. Nodes that are not upgraded after activation will face the risk of network incompatibility, a dynamic that has been precedent in previous upgrade cycles.
3.2.0 The version officially transitioned rippled to xrpld (based on the XLS-0095 specification) and reported a 30% to 40% reduction in memory usage. This release also includes security enhancements, developer tool improvements, and optimizations for licensed domains and vault features.
fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment needs wider support
The supporting fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment has received 17 votes out of 35 UNL verification nodes, with a support rate of 48.57%. Activation requires a majority support of 80%(i.e. 28 votes) and this support must last for two weeks. If approved, the amendment would implement a series of fixes involving single-asset vaults, native lending agreements, multi-function tokens, licensed domains, and licensed decentralized exchanges. These components were introduced during the XRPL 2026 amendment cycle and include Licensing DEX (XLS-81), Token Custody (XLS-85), and Treasury Loan Agreement Standard (XLS-65/66).
The core issue facing node operators and institutional participants is to verify that node support for fixCleanup3_2_0 can accelerate the activation threshold before broader node migration adds operational pressure.
