SWIFT responds to XRP rumors! What is hidden behind the latest statement?
Tom Zschach, former chief innovation officer of the network, firmly denied rumors that SWIFT, the global financial messaging service giant, would support the XRP token created by Ripple. Zschach responded directly to this speculation on the X platform, giving a concise and clear answer to the recent claims that have sparked heated debate in the cryptocurrency community.
Facing Rumors
This week, multiple social media accounts that follow XRP spread news that SWIFT may give up developing its own digital currency infrastructure and switch to widely used public tokens such as XRP. Reports suggest that SWIFT will not compete with platforms such as Ripple, but will choose to cooperate with them.
Tom Zschach responded with only one sentence to rumors that SWIFT plans to work with XRP: \"This will not happen.\"
Zschach, who served as SWIFT\'s head of innovation for six years and played a key role in developing the company\'s digital asset strategy, has a first-hand understanding of the organization\'s direction. SWIFT is recognized as the backbone of international bank communications and the transmission of payment instructions.
Consistent Criticism of Ripple and XRP
In the past, Zschach has also made critical remarks about Ripple and XRP tokens. He has previously questioned XRP\'s use cases and its decentralization proposition, and even once compared Ripple\'s technology to fax machines in the Internet era-a comparison that has attracted attention in the industry.
The former SWIFT executive believes that Ripple\'s difficult victory in its lawsuit against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission does not prove its corporate resilience. From this perspective, his recent denial of rumors of cooperation between SWIFT and XRP is consistent with the skepticism in his previous statement.
Resume in traditional finance
During his career, Zschach has served at major financial institutions such as Bank of America, Barclays Bank and Lehman Brothers. After leaving SWIFT, he joined a team working on next-generation infrastructure projects, working with researchers at Oxford, Harvard and Cambridge Universities.
At present, there are no official documents or hard evidence to support the latest claims circulating on the Internet. Zschach\'s blunt rebuttal further demonstrates that, for now, expectations that SWIFT will natively support XRP remain unsubstantiated.
