Bitcoin Price Analysis: Daily Chart

Bitcoin is consolidating around US$79,000 after a significant breakthrough from a consolidation structure that lasted for several weeks. This trend has significantly improved the overall technical aspect, although momentum shows some signs of cooling as Bitcoin approaches the main resistance area near $80,000.

Bitcoin price analysis: Daily chart

Daily chart shows that Bitcoin has been suppressed within the consolidation range below US$67,000 for several months, and has now achieved a decisive breakthrough. The asset first recovered the resistance area of $67,000, and then accelerated its upward movement, breaking through the $72,000 -74,000 range, and finally reaching the current area near $80,000.

This breakthrough is technically significant because prices have returned to the 100-day moving averages (approximately US$67,000) and 200-day moving averages (approximately US$70,000) shown in the chart. These moving averages have begun to turn upward, indicating that the medium-term structure is improving after months of downtrend.

Bitcoin is currently testing the US$80,000 resistance area. If the daily close breaks through this zone, it will create a higher high for the long term and may open the way to the $95,000 resistance zone.

On the downside, the US$72,000 -74,000 region has become the first major support area after the breakthrough. If this area falls, a deeper correction could bring Bitcoin back to near $67,000-another important former resistance level that has now become a potential support area. As long as prices remain above these regions, the recent breakthrough structure remains generally constructive.

BTC/USDT 4-hour chart

The 4-hour chart provides a more direct view of the current consolidation. After exploding from the $63,000 -65,000 region, Bitcoin is forming an upward wedge below the $80,000 resistance region, showing a clear pattern of rising highs and lows. The price is currently trading around $79,000 and appears to be moving back towards the lower wedge boundary after being blocked by resistance again.

Therefore, the US$80,000 area is a key observation point. Bitcoin has tested the lower edge of the region many times, but has not yet produced a convincing breakthrough. If prices continue to stand above $80,000, it will strengthen the pattern of continued gains and may expose the next major resistance level of around $95,000.

On the downside, the lower boundary of the rising channel currently provides dynamic support, while the broader US$72,000 -74,000 area is also an important area when the structure is broken. The short-term RSI has been on a downward trend while prices hit higher highs.

This bearish divergence between price and momentum suggests that while the underlying price structure remains overcrowded, buying pressure is running out. As a result, Bitcoin may need a sideways consolidation period before it attempts to break through again.

Sentiment analysis

The Coinbase Premium Index provides an important additional signal. The indicator has been below the zero axis for most of the time recently, indicating weak relative spot demand on Coinbase, but has now rebounded sharply and is currently around +0.03.

This rebound is noteworthy because it is in sync with the latest price increase in Bitcoin. After several months, the index rebounded from deeply negative territory to positive territory, indicating that U.S. spot buying pressure has improved with the breakthrough. If the premium index remains positive and Bitcoin remains above $75,000, additional confirmation will be provided, indicating that the rally is supported by spot demand rather than driven by derivatives trading activity alone.

However, the recent surge in premiums should be monitored in conjunction with price movements. If the index falls back below the zero axis again as Bitcoin struggles to break past $80,000, it will weaken the confirmation signal and may increase the possibility of a short-term correction.
