Circle's euro stablecoin EURC is now available on Upbit

Circle's euro stablecoin EURC is now available on Upbit, South Korea's largest cryptocurrency trading platform. The launch provides South Korean users with access to a token designed to track the value of the euro, but several actual transaction details still need to be confirmed.

EURC is a euro stablecoin launched by Circle, a token designed to track the value of the euro. Currently, three EURC trading pairs are displayed in Upbit's trading list. However, before taking action, the specific conditions for the transaction and transfer need to be confirmed.

Upbit adds three new EURC trading markets

Upbit's market list now includes three EURC trading markets: KRW-EURC, USDT-EURC and BTC-EURC. This means that EURC can be paired with South Korean won, USDT stablecoins and Bitcoin for transactions.

It should be pointed out that "listing" only means that the market exists in the exchange, and does not directly mean that all real-time trading, deposit and withdrawal functions have been opened. The data did not confirm whether specific operational details were in place.

It is reported that the coin listing activity began around September 11, 2026, but the relevant sources have not been confirmed and the dates in different index reports differ. Therefore, we do not regard any single release date as a given fact for the time being.

What is Circle's euro stablecoin EURC?

According to Circle's official issuance page, EURC is a euro-backed stablecoin issued by Circle and is issued on a full-reserve model. Circle said EURC is backed by 100% euros and can be converted to euros on a 1:1 ratio.

A stablecoin is a cryptocurrency designed to maintain value stability, in this case anchored to the euro. Circle publishes a monthly reserve audit report for the token. In addition, Circle has launched the "Circle Mint" service, which allows eligible businesses and wholesalers to convert euros to EURC or convert them back to euros.

Previously, EURC was known as Euro Coin and EUROC. Despite the name change, Circle said the existing token address remains unchanged.

There is one key point to note for Upbit users: The euro reference describes the value object tracked by the asset, but this does not mean that Upbit offers direct euro (EUR) trading pairs, as currently confirmed trading pairs are all denominated in Korean Won, USDT and Bitcoin. Choosing a euro stablecoin and choosing a dollar stablecoin are different decisions, which involve different considerations.

EURC's listing details need to be verified on Upbit

In the existing data, some actual operation details have not yet been confirmed. For example, the exact trading start time, regional or account eligibility restrictions, and whether each market is fully active are all to be verified.

The transfer conditions were also not confirmed. This includes which blockchain networks Upbit supports for EURC deposits and withdrawals, and whether these transfer functions are open. If tokens are sent on an unsupported network, financial losses may result.

The existence of a currency does not reflect trading volume, liquidity or price movements. For background reference, in the research snapshot on September 12, 2026, EURC's market valuation was approximately US$464.49 million. It should be noted that this is background information and is not real-time data at the time of listing, nor can it be used to establish Upbit's launch date or impact of listing.

Circle has been expanding its influence through plans such as the acquisition of payments company Tazapay and adjustments in managing USDC across blockchain. However, the availability of exchanges is only part of Adoption.

For any user considering using EURC in Upbit, the following recommendations are made: Before taking action, please make a direct announcement to Upbit to verify the transaction start time, supported deposit and withdrawal networks, and any account rules.
