Bitget celebrates its eighth anniversary: the proportion of non-cryptocurrency asset trading volume rose to 40%, accelerating the deployment of institutional business

On Monday, crypto trading platform Bitget announced its eighth anniversary. The company said that as it expands in equity, derivatives and institutional businesses, the peak trading volume of non-cryptocurrency assets has accounted for 40% of total trading volume.

Launch of UEX products and breakthrough in traditional financial contracts

Bitget revealed that in the past year, the platform has launched stock perpetual contracts, U.S. stock options, and Hong Kong stock Quanto contracts. Its rToken product exceeded US$100 million within five weeks of launch, and the cumulative transaction volume has since exceeded 3 million. Currently, one-quarter of users choose to start their trading journey on the platform.

According to Bitget data, the average daily trading volume of traditional financial perpetual contracts and contracts for difference (CFDs) exceeded US$10 billion. In addition, the platform has also introduced an autonomous trading agent tool called "AI Playbook" and expanded the coverage of Proof of Reserves from four assets to 24 assets.

Institutional demand surges, market convergence accelerates

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said: "Eight years in the cryptocurrency space feel longer than anywhere else." She pointed out that the cryptocurrency market and traditional financial markets are accelerating their integration. Institutional participation has increased significantly. As of the end of the second quarter, the net assets of institutional customers have increased by 45% compared with the end of 2025, and the number of core active market makers has also increased from 90 to 248.

In order to ensure the safety of user funds, Bitget's protection fund had an average balance of approximately US$382 million in August 2026. This fund is specifically used to cover possible losses customers may suffer.

To celebrate its eighth anniversary, Bitget will host a series of celebrations during KCGI 2026. The event is a trading competition with a total prize pool of up to 3 million USDT (TEDA).
