CoinEx shutdown schedule: Key dates tracking
Date events will stop new user registrations on September 15, 2026; contract transactions will be switched to lightening-only mode; Referral rewards will be terminated on September 22, 2026 for all non-spot services (Lending, pledge, financial management) closed; on-chain deposits stopped (excluding CET) Spot trading ended on September 29, 2026; remaining CET was automatically repurchased at a price of US$0.005; Smart Chain and OneSwap will be closed. The withdrawal channel will be closed on December 22, 2026, and the platform will be completely suspended. During the entire operation period until December 22, 2026, the withdrawal function will remain open. The platform stated that its reserve ratio exceeds 100%, which means that users 'assets are fully protected, and guides users to check its "Proof of Reserves" page for verification.
Why did the CET price rise after the shutdown news?
According to CoinMarketCap data, CET is currently trading at $0.004999, an increase of 3.58%, and has a market value of approximately $3.54 million. The reason for the price increase is that the platform promises to repurchase all remaining CET at the original listing price of 0.005 USDT, and there is no limit on quantity. This reserve price supports the current price.

However, in a longer time perspective, CET has lost 76% of its value during the year and has dropped 34.8% in the past week. CoinMarketCap also showed that CoinEx's trading volume was US$58,546,371, while total assets were US$173,669,834.3.
More exchanges are coming to an end in 2026
CoinEx is not alone in facing this dilemma:
- Bitget: will stop accepting new users from Japan starting August 3, 2026, as part of this year's exchange closures.
- BitMart Exchange: This mid-sized exchange is closing in phases, with a full shutdown scheduled for January 31, 2027. Previously, the platform has caused user concerns due to issues such as fund safety and withdrawal speed.
- BitMEX：所有者 HDR Global Trading Limited 于 2026 年 7 月 23 日确认，BitMEX 将于 2026 年 9 月 23 日 UTC 时间 04:00 结束所有运营。在此之前，平台已冻结新用户注册，并要求用户在截止日期前平仓。
