XRP Binance founder publicly supports the hacked Bitget
On September 24, 2026, when hackers stole approximately US$387.5 million from Bitget's hot wallet, Binance founder CZ (@cz_binance) publicly expressed support for its competitor Bitget. CZ said he expects Binance, the BNB chain ecosystem and the wider community to provide assistance within their capabilities. Bitget CEO Gracy Chen (@GracyBitget) publicly expressed gratitude for this, noting that every second is crucial when tracking stolen assets.
Event Details
At 18:31 UTC on Thursday, Bitget's security system flagged unauthorized transfers of some of its hot money packages. The exchange's security team discovered that the attacker broke through the critical back-end wallet system, used the system to forge transfer information and triggered Bitget's authorization signature process. Currently, the possibility of private key disclosure has been ruled out.
This intrusion affected Bitget's hot wallet and warm wallet levels, while the offline cold wallet was not affected. Later, Bitget added some of the Zcash balances and additional TRON balances that were omitted from its first official count, raising the total loss to approximately $387.5 million. The exchange emphasized that this data revision is a complete accounting of transfers during the incident, rather than further theft that occurred after the outflow was contained.
On-chain tracking agency Lookonchain lists the largest share as 10.293 million XRPs (worth approximately US$157.48 million), followed by 31,890 ETH (worth approximately US$85.75 million), followed by USDT, USDC, BNB, AVAX and TRX.
朝鲜嫌疑与用户保障
Bitget首席执行官Gracy Chen表示，调查人员识别出与朝鲜黑客组织此前使用的VPN服务相关的IP地址，且攻击模式与该国此前归因的行动相似。关于入侵Bitget系统的具体手段，技术调查仍在进行中。
目前，平台提现功能已暂停，公司正与安全公司Mandiant和SlowMist合作开展恢复工作。据Gracy Chen透露，被盗资金已由交易所的“用户保护基金”全额覆盖，该基金在事故发生时持有超过4.64亿美元。此次黑客攻击仅影响Bitget交易所，Bitget钱包用户未受影响。
此事件使Bitget跻身史上最大交易所黑客攻击之列。2025年全年，朝鲜黑客集体 implicated 了约20.2亿美元的加密货币盗窃案，其中包括当年备受瞩目的Bybit breaches。
