XRP spot trading volume hit a new high since February, with prices rising 8% in a single day.
In August, XRP spot trading volume climbed to the highest level since February. In the past day, the token price has increased by about 8% and traded at nearly $1.45.
Trading activity has increased significantly as the broader cryptocurrency market is back active. Bitcoin broke the $80,000 mark for the first time in a week, and the altcoins also followed suit.
Trading volume on major exchanges rebounds
Data shared by CryptoQuant contributor Arab Chains showed that XRP spot trading volume on several major exchanges rose last month, reaching its highest point since February.
Among them, Binance accounted for the largest share, with XRP trading volume of approximately US$7.28 billion in August; followed by Upbit, with transaction volume of approximately US$4.68 billion, followed by South Korea's Bithumb, with transaction volume of nearly US$2.59 billion.
In addition, Byby processed approximately $1.4 billion in XRP transactions, Gate.io approximately $1.33 billion, and KuCoin nearly $1.23 billion. Both Bitget and Coinbase traded just below the $1 billion mark, at $918.5 million and $915.4 million respectively.
Taken individually, the surge in trading volume does not directly predict price rises and falls, it simply means that more buyers and sellers are becoming active. However, trading volume hit a six-month high indicating a substantial improvement in liquidity around the XRP. If this momentum is maintained, it will help the token absorb greater price fluctuations in the future.
Price trend follows the market upward
As of writing, XRP was trading at about $1.45, up more than 6% in the past 24 hours, according to CoinGecko. In the past day, the price range for the token was $1.35 to $1.48; in the past week, the price range was $1.31 to $1.48. The weekly gain was only 1.4%, suggesting that most of the recent gains came from a rapid pull-up rather than a steady climb.
Looking at a longer time span, XRP rose by about 36% this month. Despite this, its price is still about 49% lower than a year ago and about 60% lower than the all-time high of $3.65 set in July 2025.
This trend is closely related to the broader market rebound that began on Thursday. As CryptoPotato previously reported, after tensions in the Middle East caused Bitcoin to Briefly fall to a 10-day low near US$76,200, Bitcoin once again pushed through the US$80,000 mark for the first time in a week.
XRP was one of the largest performing currencies in this round of market, rising 9% on the day and breaking through the US$1.40 mark. At the same time, ETH is moving towards US$2,500, and BNB has also exceeded US$720.
