Major governance decisions for the Ethena ecosystem: Agreement revenue will be used to repurchase ENA tokens
An important governance decision was made within the Ethena ecosystem, which may directly affect ENA tokens. According to a statement from the Ethena Foundation, a "fee conversion" proposal aimed at using agreement revenue for ENA buybacks has 100% support.
After the decision was announced, the official announced that it would launch a programmatic ENA repurchase. The foundation said the repurchase program will gradually expand as specific performance indicators and milestones are reached. This means that part of the revenue generated by the Ethena Agreement will be used to purchase ENA directly from the market.
This development has also had a positive impact on ENA prices. According to market data, ENA has risen about 15% to $0.172 in the past 24 hours. The token ranks 45th in market value.
This latest decision is a continuation of the broader token economy changes announced by the Ethena Foundation on August 27. In that announcement, the foundation disclosed four major adjustments, including: repurchase of locked tokens held by early investors; strengthening economic consistency between ENA tokens and company equity; initiating a governance process to use agreement revenue for ENA repurchases; and canceling future plans to unlock tokens monthly for venture capital institutional investors.
