Standard Chartered Bank continues to focus on altcoins with rising potential: SKY is expected to surpass Bitcoin

British banking giant Standard Chartered Bank continues to pay close attention to other altcoins with rising potential while focusing on Bitcoin and Ethereum. Currently, one of the bank's key targets is SKY, the native token of the decentralized financial (DeFi) platform Sky (formerly known as MakerDAO). Standard Chartered Bank has set a target price of US$0.325 for SKY in 2028.

In its latest report, the bank predicted that by 2028, the native token SKY of DeFi platform Sky will rise to US$0.325, more than five times higher than current levels. Geoff Kendrick, global head of digital asset research at Standard Chartered Bank, also explained in detail the logic behind this price forecast in a recent report.

"Federal Bank-like" Analogy and Growth Scenario

Kendrick points out that Sky is similar to a "federal bank" in that it issues stablecoins, has a governance structure, and charges wholesale interest rates to borrowers. According to Kendrick's analysis, the wider adoption of USDS and the increase in lending size are key factors supporting SKY's rising potential.

The report also added that Sky's stablecoins rank third in terms of supply. If the bullish scenario materializes, by 2028, SKY could provide returns comparable to Ethereum and outperform Bitcoin. In addition, the report pointed out that if this scenario occurs, SKY is expected to become one of the best performing tokens in the DeFi field.

Also bullish expectations for Bitcoin and Ethereum

Standard Chartered Bank said it still maintains a long-term bullish outlook for Bitcoin and Ethereum. In this context, the bank predicts that by the end of 2028, the price of Ethereum will reach US$18,000, while the price of Bitcoin will reach US$300,000.
