What is striking is not the sharp fluctuations in prices, but their lack of volatility. The six daily closing prices from September 23 to September 28 were US$2,683.99, US$2,687.24, US$2,691.35, US$2,695.35, US$2,688.02 and US$2,687.45 respectively. Between the highest and lowest of the six closing prices, the spread was just $11.36, or less than 0.5%. The market has closed within this narrow range for six consecutive days, indicating that neither buyer and seller has any intention of pushing for significant price changes.

The background for this calm situation was set the previous week. ETH fell to $2,563 on September 20; the price rebounded to $2,807 on September 21, closing at $2,776. Since then, the price range has narrowed day by day. For investors, this means that there is less risk of significant price fluctuations during the current transfer process.

Ethereum Gas fee dropped to about 1 Gwei: Analysis of ETH transfer costs on Tuesday

Gas is Ethereum's unit of measuring transaction workload. Its price is denominated in Gwei, and 1 Gwei is equal to 1 billionth of ETH. The calculation formula is simple and clear: the Gas consumption is multiplied by the Gwei unit price to get the ETH handling fee.

Early Tuesday morning, the network recommended base rate ranged from 0.89 to 1.31 Gwei after multiple readings, and the latest block reading was about 1.1 Gwei. For quick confirmation, the Gas tracker displays a value of approximately 1.25 Gwei. Based on a price of € 2,392 per ETH, the estimated cost of each operation is as follows:

Self-custody after the Bitget attack: The transfer cost is only 6 cents

On September 29, according to the exchange's own disclosure, US$387.5 million in funds flowed out of Bitget. It is reported that the attack was carried out through third-party security software. Although such incidents cannot deny the overall value of the exchange, they answer a general concern of investors: What other funds should not remain on the exchange?

Self-escrow means that the private key is held by the user and not by the service provider. The advantage lies in preventing external intrusion or bankruptcy risks from spreading to assets. The price is liability: losing the mnemonic means losing the asset permanently, and no one can replace it.

Users planning to take this step this week will get an attractive reason. Withdrawing funds from the exchange to the own address is technically equivalent to a simple ETH transfer, which costs about 6 cents on the network side. Regular expenses are withdrawal fees charged by exchanges, which are independent of network fees and are much higher at many providers. Sepolia TestNetwork October 6: Glamsburg upgrade touches Gas pricing

Low-cost environments are not permanent and the next intervention is scheduled. The Ethereum Foundation announced on September 17 that an upgrade called Glamstam will be activated on the Sepolia Test Network at 13:53:36 UTC on October 6 (Era 353,024, slot 11,296,768).

The testnet is a network parallel to the main net and is used to test changes before the main net is implemented. Sepolia is one of them. The important background is that the foundation announcement clearly did not give the activation date of the main network. The activation dates of Hoodi and the main network have not yet been decided. This announcement does not involve the upgrade of the main network.

Glamstam is relevant to the subject of this article because it contains several change proposals that directly affect Gas pricing. These include: EIP-8037 increases the Gas cost of creating state data, EIP-8038 recalculates state access costs, EIP-2780 introduces a resource-based basis cost per transaction, EIP-7976 increases the minimum cost of calldata, and EIP-7981 makes access lists more expensive. There are also EIP-7732 (establishing the separation of proposers and block builders) and EIP-7928 (block-level access lists).

The narrow range of several days does not predict the final direction of the breakthrough, only indicating that the breakthrough has not yet occurred. Compared with last week, the range from September 20 to 29 was $2,563 to $2,807, which was about five times the width of the closing price over the past six days.

Ethereum Prices and Internet Fees: Recommendations for follow-up actions

Based on today's data, it is recommended to take the following three steps in order:

1. Review positions and read withdrawal fees: Check which funds are idle on the trading platform and check the specific cost of each withdrawal in your account.
