The U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF suffered a net outflow of US$89.9 million, and the Bitcoin price fell below the US$86,000 mark.

On Monday, the U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded a net outflow of US$89.9 million, ending the net inflow momentum of the previous two days. At the same time, Bitcoin prices slipped below $86,000. According to data from data analytics platform SoSoValue, the total trading volume of these ETFs during the trading session reached US$2.18 billion.

Reversal of capital flows and Bitcoin price trend

This net outflow occurred after the cumulative net inflow of approximately US$293 million in the first two trading days of October. As of Monday, Bitcoin was trading at $85,559. According to CoinGecko data, this price is down 32% from the all-time high of $126,080 set on October 6, 2025.

Just one day before the anniversary of this landmark high, Bitcoin has fallen sharply from its historical peak and is now down more than 30% from last year's level. Since early October, cumulative net inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have dropped by 5.8% from $61.3 billion to $57.7 billion, indicating that institutional investors are becoming cautious.

Performance of Ethereum and other altcoin ETFs

The U.S. spot Ethereum (ETH) ETF recorded a net outflow of US$51 million on Monday. This is the fifth consecutive trading day that the Ethereum Fund has experienced capital outflows, with a total loss of US$206 million during this period. Currently, cumulative net inflows to these funds are US$13.8 billion.

ETFs that track other major altcoins perform differently. The Solana (SOL) fund lost $9.3 million and the Zcash (ZEC) fund flowed out $3.6 million. The XRP ETF recorded zero net flow on Monday after experiencing a $3.3 million outflow on Friday.

These ETF trends reflect that institutional investors are showing caution against the backdrop of the overall decline in the cryptocurrency sector.

Outlook and Recent ETF Trends

The latest data shows that before the current net outflow, Bitcoin ETF had achieved net inflows for three consecutive weeks. At the same time, the Ethereum ETF has previously experienced continued capital outflows totaling US$138 million, reflecting market differences in sentiment between Bitcoin and Ethereum investment products.

The latest ETF trends highlight the increased market volatility surrounding the anniversaries of major cryptocurrencies and the ongoing correction in institutional investor positions.
