Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, regarded as one of the most outspoken figures in the cryptocurrency market, this time targeted Ethereum. He accused Ethereum of copying Cardano\'s UTXO (EUTXO) model.
In the latest YouTube video, ADA founder Charles Hoskinson accused the Ethereum Foundation of copying a decade-old concept Cardano had been developing without naming the source. Hoskinson described Cardano\'s extended UTXO model as one of the most significant innovations in smart contract design, a topic he has been working on for more than a decade.
It is reported that the Ethereum team tried to replicate the UTXO model without mentioning Cardano, and may continue to copy Cardano\'s other innovations in the future.
Hoskinson\'s remarks were in response to comments by Toni Wahrstätter, developer of the Ethereum Foundation. Wahrstätter recently proposed a proposal called \"Ethereum-Native UTXO\". According to Wahrstätter, the proposal aims to transform payment transactions into \"one-time objects\" rather than persistent state inputs.
Wahrstätter stated that drawing on Bitcoin\'s UTXO model elements could reduce the use of Ethereum persistence state in simple payment transactions by approximately 99.8%. Hoskinson pointed out that the source of the proposal was Bitcoin\'s UTXO model, but said nothing about Cardano.
