BlackRock\'s transfer of 8700 ETH has attracted attention from the Ethereum ETF
Well-known asset management company BlackRock recently transferred 8700 Ethereum (approximately US$15.81 million) to Coinbase Prime. The transfer attracted attention in the blockchain community because it coincided with an intensification of capital outflows from BlackRock\'s Ethereum ETF (ETHA). Onchain Lens, an online data analysis platform, pointed out that such a large-scale transfer of funds highlights the continued weak trend of capital inflows in the Ethereum ETF sector, presenting a complex situation for market observers.
What is the story behind the transfer?
At the time of the transfer, BlackRock\'s spot Ethereum ETF, ETHA, recorded a net outflow of 7240 Ethereum units (approximately US$12.67 million). This trend reflects that investors are still struggling to move forward despite fluctuations in sentiment towards Ethereum-related investment products. At the same time, Coinbase Prime, known for serving institutional customers, remains a trustworthy platform in the field of digital asset custody, trading and execution. This balance is crucial because stakeholders pay close attention to developments that may affect their ETF market prospects.
According to Onchain Lens, during the same period that ETHA suffered a massive outflow of funds, 8700 Ethereum items were transferred from BlackRock\'s associated ETHA wallets to Coinbase Prime.
Is the Ethereum ETF losing its appeal?
An in-depth look at the ETF market on July 9 shows that the overall outflow was significant, with a total amount of US$52.08 million. Among them, Fidelity\'s FETH fund had the largest single fund redemption in a single day, highlighting investors \'lack of short-term interest. The Ethereum ETF market reflects widespread investor concerns-net outflows reached $690 million in June. This continued outflow of funds reflects investors \'concerns about a possible long-term downward trend.

Looking ahead, the market focus shifts to the third quarter-a period when Ethereum has historically shown positive trends. CoinGlass\'s data analysis suggests a possible turnaround: Since 2016, Ethereum has tended to record gains in the third quarter. However, the current cautious attitude of investors suggests that without new market catalysts, history may not repeat itself.
Ethereum rose 2.6% to US$1790 in the recent 24 hours, outperforming Bitcoin. This momentum raises questions about whether Ethereum can escape the continued downward trend of highs and lows, bringing investors an uncertain but fascinating outlook.
