Since early November, there has been a continuous outflow of funds from Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. According to Glassnode, this indicates that institutional investors are withdrawing from the cryptocurrency market. The analysis platform Glassnode noted that the continuous outflow of funds from Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds suggests that institutional investors have left the cryptocurrency market.

Since early November, the 30-day moving average of net inflows into physical Bitcoin in the United States has been negative… Glassnode reported on Tuesday that the prices of ETFs have turned negative.
The report also stated, “This persistent trend indicates low participation by institutional investors. Some investors have withdrawn from the cryptocurrency market, leading to a decline in overall liquidity in the market.”
Funds flowing into cryptocurrency ETFs usually lag behind the price of physical tokens, and the price of physical tokens has been declining since mid-October.
ETFs are also seen as indicators of institutional sentiment. Throughout most of this year, institutional sentiment has been a driving force in the market. However, as the overall market declines, institutional sentiment seems to have turned bearish.

The pressure to sell ETFs is again increasing.
Coinglass reported that the overall flow of funds into Bitcoin ETFs has been negative for four consecutive trading days. However, iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), under the management of BlackRock, has seen a slight increase in funds inflows over the past week.
Kobeissi Letter reported on Tuesday that “pressure from the sell-off of crypto ETFs is returning.” The report indicated that last week, funds in crypto funds withdrew $952 million. In six of the past ten weeks, investors have been withdrawing their investments.
Despite the recent outflows, the leading fund in the industry, BlackRock Fund, has received $62.5 billion in inflows since its establishment, surpassing all competitor’s spot Bitcoin ETFs.
IBIT’s volume exceeds that of gold
Eric Balchunas, an ETF analyst at Bloomberg, said on Saturday that IBIT is the only ETF on Bloomberg’s “2025 Fund Flow Ranking” that has negative returns this year.
“What’s really important is that, despite having negative returns, it still ranked sixth,” he added.
Balchunas said that BlackRock’s flagship Bitcoin fund even surpassed SPDR Gold Trust (GLD), which increased by 64%.
“In my opinion, this is definitely a good sign in the long term. If it can achieve $25 billion in revenue even during years of poor performance, then what could its potential be during years of strong performance?”
