Whenever a well-known cryptocurrency investor starts to transfer funds, people often feel worried. But this investor instead uses those funds to invest more heavily in the blockchain network. After being inactive for ten years, this investor has reemerged—but instead of selling his assets, he has pledged them all. According to data from the blockchain platform Lookonchain, this Ethereum wallet holds 40,000 tokens. The owner purchased these tokens in July 2015, when the first block of Ethereum was created, for approximately $12,000. Now, its value has reached $120 million.
However, this investor from the ICO era did not transfer his funds to any deposit addresses on cryptocurrency exchanges. Instead, he pledged all his Ethereum holdings, indicating that he is now increasing his investment in Ethereum.

Over the past month, there have been many rumors about large-scale cryptocurrency investors selling their assets. Some analysts attribute the recent fluctuations in cryptocurrency prices to their actions.
Two more Ethereum OGs have been sold, one of which has been pledged.
Another OG wallet accumulated 254,908 tokens during the Ethereum ICO period. On November 26th, it began selling its tokens. In the initial transactions, this investor sold 20,000 Ethereum tokens, and then gradually reduced the number of tokens he held. By Saturday, he had only 9.3 million Ethereum tokens left.
Meanwhile, another OG-level player who has accumulated 154,076 Ether tokens since 2017 sent 18,000 tokens to the online cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp. Previously, this “giant whale” sold 87,824 Ether tokens at an average price of $1,694 per token.
A large Ethereum wallet that remained inactive for eight years during Ethereum’s ICO period finally came back online in September and chose to pledge some of its tokens. This “giant whale” purchased millions of tokens during the initial stage of Ethereum’s development, and transferred 150,000 Ether tokens to a new wallet for pledging purposes.
Top Ethereum holders continue to increase their holdings.
Although some established Ethereum holders may be selling their tokens, top addresses are still increasing their holdings. Data from the blockchain data platform Glassnode shows that last Wednesday, the total amount of Ether held by addresses ranked in the top 1% increased to 97.6%, compared to 96.1% a year ago.
According to data from the blockchain intelligence platform Arkham, the Eth2 Beacon deposit contract holds the most Ether tokens, with 72.4 million units, valued at approximately $203 billion, accounting for about 60% of the total supply.
