David Schwartz, former Chief Technology Officer of Ripple, will return to Swell 2026 to look forward to the future of XRP Ledger
David Schwartz, former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Ripple, will return to the Swell Conference in 2026 to attend as an "Honorary Chief Technology Officer", focusing on discussing the development roadmap of XRP Ledger (XRPL) and future technology priorities. The appearance marks the first time Schwartz has participated in a major industry conference since becoming CTO Emeritus and joining Ripple's board of directors.
Focus on the technical direction and institutional applications of XRPL
As co-founder of XRP Ledger, Schwartz will participate in a "fireside chat" at the Ripple Anniversary Celebration in New York on October 28. This session will delve into the technical directions of the network, covering payment infrastructure, privacy functions and application scenarios of artificial intelligence (AI).
Ripple has expanded the anniversary celebration into a comprehensive event that integrates Swell, Developer Summit Apex, and academic initiative project UBRI Connect. The combined event is expected to attract approximately 1,500 participants, including blockchain engineers, financial institution executives and researchers, to review digital asset infrastructure and its financial applications.
Schwartz will join Ayo Akinyele, head of RippleX engineering, to co-chair a panel discussion titled "Building What's Next for XRPL." Akinyele has deep expertise in applied cryptography, privacy-protected transfers and AI infrastructure, which will be the core of this dialogue. Both parties will conduct an in-depth analysis of XRPL's technological evolution path and its potential application value in the field of institutional financial services.
Several prominent guests attended to explore the social impact of stablecoins
In addition to Schwartz, speakers who have been confirmed to attend include Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, former New York Stock Exchange President Tom Farley and BNY executive Laide Majiyagbe. In addition, Hollywood actor Matt Damon will also participate in the event through his founding Water.org to discuss the potential of RLUSD in microfinance initiatives.
The initiative aims to cover the financial services sector in Asia and Africa, using stablecoin payments to support organizations 'development projects. At the same time, Schwartz's presence also symbolizes an important transition in Ripple's operational leadership and marks a new change in the company's technical management architecture.
XRP Market Performance and Technology Vision
This meeting comes at a time when the XRP market is performing strongly. According to reports, XRP rose 46% in the third quarter and is currently trading at approximately US$1.53 and has a market value of nearly US$97 billion. In this market context, Schwartz's speech will further elaborate on XRPL's payment capabilities, and combine privacy development and artificial intelligence integration to outline the priorities of technology development.
The presentation, scheduled to begin on October 28 at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time, will identify the key technology priorities that shape the development of XRP Ledger under Ripple's evolving leadership structure.
