LTC Litecoin (LTC) celebrates its 15th anniversary
On October 7, 2026, Litecoin ($LTC) celebrated its 15th anniversary. Founder Charlie Lee unearthed Litecoin's creation block at 07:31:05 Coordinated Universal Time on October 7, 2011, marking the official launch of the network.
Initially, Litecoin was intended to be a leaner and faster alternative to Bitcoin; today, it has developed into one of the most enduring blockchains in the industry. The_coinbase_field of the Genesis block contains the text "NY Times 05/Oct/2011 Steve Jobs, Apple's Visionary, Dies at 56", which is a timestamp embedded by @SatoshiLite to prove that the block was created after this date. This is not only a tribute to the tradition of Bitcoin's creation block, but also sends a signal to the outside world: Litecoin has adhered to the concept of transparency since its inception.
The time-tested network
Currently, the number of Litecoin in circulation is close to 80 million, with a market value of more than US$5 billion, ranking among the top 30 crypto assets in the world. During its 15-year operation, the network achieved 100% uptime.
In an industry characterized by volatility and disruption, this reliability is extremely rare, and it is precisely because of this that Litecoin maintains a global ecosystem that includes miners, developers, businesses and ordinary users.

近年来，该网络最重要的里程碑出现在2022年。莱特币激活了MimbleWimble扩展块（MWEB），这是一项可选的隐私升级功能。MWEB使用独立的地址空间和交易格式来隐藏交易金额。用户可以将$LTC转入MWEB地址进行保密交易，并在需要时转回标准地址，且隐私功能始终保持自愿原则，而非强制实施。
近期，随着美国首只现货ETF获批，莱特币加入了比特币和以太坊的行列。Canary Capital集团宣布推出的纳斯达克上市LTCC基金获得了批准。这一里程碑事件为该网络增添了新的机构准入层级，也为自2011年以来从未中断运行的资产注入了新的活力。
十五年过去了，$LTC依然是加密空间中最古老且运营最稳定的网络之一。无论它是继续演进还是仅仅保持现状，其卓越的历史记录本身就已使其与众不同。
