ZRO rose 16% in response to LayerZero's launch of ATLAS trading infrastructure.

LayerZero released ATLAS, an exchange infrastructure that integrates trading, liquidity, clearing, settlement and risk management for financial platforms. According to LayerZero's announcement on the X platform, ATLAS stands for "Aggregated Trading, Liquidity and Settlement".

Cryptocurrency exchanges, brokers and financial institutions can integrate with ATLAS while retaining their own brands, customers and interfaces. In this way, participating platforms can obtain core trading services without developing expensive infrastructure or relying on rival exchanges. ATLAS runs on top of the financial blockchain Zero, designed specifically for global markets. Zero uses zero-knowledge proof to verify transactions on the chain while meeting the performance requirements of global financial markets.

ATLAS connects trading venues with market creators and liquidity providers

LayerZero designed ATLAS around trading venues, market creators and market makers. The trading venue will manage customer platforms while connecting users to available markets through this network. Market creators are responsible for selecting products and formulating the rules of their respective markets. Supported products include spot tokens, perpetual contracts, stocks, commodities, bonds, Meme assets and forecast markets. In addition, ATLAS will support open markets, as well as controlled institutional markets with specific participation thresholds.

ZRO supports security, rebates and token destruction

ZRO will ensure the security of the Zero network through a delegated proof of stake mechanism, and will also serve as the Gas and governance token for the blockchain. Trading venues can also pledge ZRO to receive higher ATLAS fee rebates. The open version of ATLAS will offer a rebate of 20% to 65% based on transaction volume or the number of ZROs pledged. Market creators will receive 25% of the remaining fees after these rebates. ATLAS will use the remaining 75% of the fee to purchase and permanently destroy ZRO tokens, a move that could support token demand and reduce circulation supply.

According to Jack Melnick's post on the X platform, ATLAS is similar to the evolution of custodian banks expanding from settlement business to transaction infrastructure. LayerZero expects ATLAS to be launched as Zero's first product later this year. ZRO rose more than 16% after the announcement and traded close to $1.26. The launch of ATLAS further expands LayerZero from cross-chain transmission to broader global financial infrastructure operations.
