Bitfinex Securities launches US$50 million in tokenized capital raising for Alkemya Metacore
Bitfinex Securities has launched a US$50 million tokenized capital raising round for the Luxembourg-based Alkemya Metacore platform. The platform is committed to developing high-purity nickel wire for financial and industrial applications. The offering was announced on August 27, after which it is planned to list ALKN Securities to eligible investors.
ALKN links financing to industrial metals
The product is linked to a Luxembourg-based platform that relies on inventory worth approximately US$1.6 billion and contains approximately 7 million meters of nickel wire. These materials are stored in Swiss trusteeship institutions and are widely used in fields such as semiconductors, aerospace, defense and industrial systems.
Bitfinex Securities stated that the blockchain architecture is designed to transform assets typically found in industrial supply chains into tradable financing instruments. This approach is in line with the broad growth trend of tokenized securities, including Ondo's tokenized stock platform, which has exceeded US$1 billion.
Financing will be used for Alkemya's operating business
The funds raised are intended to support the development and commercialization of engineered nickel products through Alkemya's operating subsidiary Green Transitional Metals. Planned applications include electromagnetic interference shielding, green hydrogen systems and rare and precious metals recovery.
Eligible investors can make a primary subscription for ALKN before October 15. Bitfinex Securities said that this is the first tokenized commodity offering under El Salvador's digital asset regulatory framework, but the planned secondary listing still needs to go through the platform access process.
Liquidity and asset claims need to be carefully evaluated
Tokenization can change the way investments are issued and transferred, but it does not by itself guarantee liquidity, nor does it eliminate commodity, custody and issuer risks. Investors still need to evaluate the legal rights represented by the tokens, the redemption mechanism and the market conditions of the underlying industrial products.
This offering further enriches the market structure of on-chain financial products, which already includes lending platforms that combine DeFi with tokenized stocks and dedicated credit markets. Bitfinext Securities has not disclosed ALKN's expected secondary market trading volume, so demand after the subscription period remains uncertain. Eligibility restrictions for this offering also mean that participation depends on the identity of the investor and jurisdiction, and not all Bitfinex users can participate. No minimum secondary market liquidity commitment has been announced, and no market makers have been identified.
