DFDV increased its holdings of Solana, and its share price rose 17%
On August 27, DFDV's share price closed at US$5.28, an increase of 17.33%. Earlier, DeFi Development Corp. announced the restart of its Solana buying program. About 19,000 new SOL units were purchased this time, with an average price of US$98.14.
The Nasdaq-listed company currently holds approximately 2.33 million SOL and equivalent assets. Part of the acquisition funds come from ZeroStack's asset divestiture proceeds, and the company's management plans to use the purchased tokens for long-term holding and pledge.
DFDV expands Solana vault with approximately 19,000 SOL coins
Based on the announced token price and quantity, the acquisition cost is approximately US$1.86 million. The company disclosed in an announcement on August 27 that the total balance of SOL and equivalents it held was 2,333,432.
Management plans to deploy purchased assets through existing pledge mechanisms and on-chain treasury operations. The company operates its own verification node and earns pledge rewards and fees by entrusting tokens. These activities can increase treasury holdings without market buying, but rewards cannot offset the risk of falling SOL prices.
This configuration follows the company's previous cooperation with ZeroStack (announced in September 2025). The announcement did not disclose the specific proportion of asset divestitures in the acquisition funds.
Stock price performance reflects Solana leverage exposure
CEO Joseph Onorati said that DFDV aims to provide investors with amplified exposure to SOL through its listed stocks. The company reported that its month-to-date return has exceeded twice the increase in the SOL token itself. So far this quarter, the stock's relative return is 1.8 times SOL.
The company also mentioned active trading in the week ending August 21. Its analysis shows that the stock ranks first among similar stocks in Solana Vault in terms of trading volume relative to market value, and recorded the highest dollar trading volume in multiple trading days.
The above comparison describes past price movements and is not a fixed multiple of return for future trading sessions. DFDV warned that changes in debt, dilutions, financing costs and market valuations could affect shareholder returns. If SOL falls, leverage will amplify losses.
On August 26, DFDV launched the public research and data platform "State of Solana" to track market prices, pledge yields, verification node data, network health and ecosystem activity. Other tools cover throughput, network uptime and cross-chain comparisons.
