ZEUS said it had temporarily taken its infrastructure offline following a cybersecurity incident in recent hours.
The company said the attack had been mitigated and that services would remain offline until a comprehensive security audit was completed before resuming operations.
ZEUS stated that there were no customer funds lost and no customer funds are currently at risk.
Customers whose Lightning Service Provider (LSP) channels are closed will receive a replacement channel after service is restored.
Based on its investigation to date, ZEUS said the incident appeared to be limited to its own infrastructure and there was no evidence that it was caused by a Lightning Node software vulnerability.
The company added that it has been using the Trusted Execution Environment (Enclaves) and Verification Lightning Signatories (VLS) project to shore up its infrastructure, and said the project aims to mitigate such attacks in its upcoming architecture.
ZEUS said it will continue to provide updates as the investigation progresses.
