ETH First-time Republican congressman calls for investigation of the president's son, accusing him of using family connections for personal gain.
A first-time Republican congressman broke away from his party and publicly called for an investigation into the sons of two U.S. presidents. Senator John Curtis of Utah cited cryptocurrency companies linked to the current president's family as a case. He spoke before the Senate Judiciary Committee, calling for a hearing on Donald Trump Jr. and Hunter Biden issued a subpoena.
Republicans raise the issue of their partisan recusal
Curtis wrote to Iowa Judicial Commission Chairman Chuck Grassley and Illinois Party veteran Dick Durbin requesting an investigation into "domestic and foreign entities using family connections to obtain private financial benefits, privileges, or access rights."
On social media platform X, Curtis distinguished between ordinary gifts and events that occurred during Trump Jr.'s wedding. He pointed out: "Giving a toaster is a wedding gift; but a private island party funded by an oligarch linked to Putin is another matter." Curtis said Republicans had "almost exhausted the subpoena mechanism" when investigating Hunter Biden's foreign affairs and should not stop there now.

后者涉及监管问题，因为这些平台受商品期货交易委员会（CFTC）管辖。柯蒂斯指出，这些交易可能会引发关于外国人是否接触现任总统亲属的疑问。
