Despite the overall performance, caution is still needed. Historical seasonal data shows that for seven of the past eight years, XRP tends to move in the opposite direction in September to August. The $100 billion market cap level constitutes a key node in the short-term sentiment test, and a sustained close above that would be a major psychological milestone for the asset. Heading into the last week of September, the central question is whether new buyers can absorb selling at current prices, or whether short-term holders choose to take profits and exit the market, as they did in late August.
$XRP is the native digital asset of XRP Ledger, an open-source blockchain launched in 2012. It primarily serves as a bridge asset for cross-border payments and powers Ripple's on-demand mobility corridor.
