Senior trader Peter Brandt prefers Monero, and XRP ranks lower due to supply pressure.

Senior trader Peter Brandt (Twitter account @PeterLBrandt) clearly listed Monero (XMR) as his first choice after releasing a weekly chart comparison of several major altcoins. In this review based purely on price behavior, XRP lags behind other competitors.

Monero stands out

Brandt recently released a weekly chart comparison of XRP, Monero and Solana, evaluating these assets only through classic price patterns and measured movements. His judgment on $XMR is unambiguous: the privacy-focused cryptocurrency stands out because it "has absorbed all the supplies above it." This stance contrasts sharply with the heavy burden on XRP, with Brandt describing Monero as having a "smooth future."

His reasoning is that $XMR has absorbed holders who buy at high prices and may sell when prices recover, a state he calls "absorbed supply." In contrast, there is still a large amount of such supply above the XRP. Among the altcoins analyzed, Brandt ranked Monero at the top, followed by Solana and Ether, while XRP ranked lower on his preference list.

XRP: Bullish pattern but significant hidden dangers

Brandt conducted technical analysis based on chart positions close to $1.51 and outlined a path for XRP to reach $2.16, which means that potential growth from this level is about 43%. He pointed out that a cup handle shape is being formed, which may be part of a broader "inverted head and shoulders" pattern.

However, there is significant upside supply in the $2 to $3.70 range, which could create selling pressure during any rebound in the XRP. Since XRP is currently well below the main highs of previous bull markets, as token prices rise, higher price levels may attract selling orders, creating resistance in its potential upward path. Brant's assessment was very straightforward, writing that XRP had "significant overhead supply to overcome" and saying this was a clear negative factor for the token.

Brant believes that further development of the right shoulder of XRP is possible, but not necessary. His current daily target of $2.16 is different from his previous forecast of $5.40. He always reminds investors that chart goals are conditional. He called on XRP holders not to be personally troubled by weaker chart evaluations, noting that patterns can change and measurement movements can fail.
