Van der believes that the three major factors driving past market cycles are liquidity, sentiment and time. He emphasized mobility and emotion as the main drivers, while noting that both often have short attention cycles.
He called on XRP investors to stop thinking that the next major crypto market rebound requires regulatory approval. Van der specifically refuted the idea that market cycles and liquidity require regulatory, congressional action or legislative clarity before major price fluctuations occur. His comments focused on capital flows and investor sentiment rather than regulatory developments, arguing that these are the key factors investors should pay attention to when assessing market conditions.
Van der still expects regulation to play an important role
Although Van der criticized the view that "the CLARITY Act is necessary to create huge crypto wealth," he did not completely deny the significance of regulation. He said the legislation could have a "profound impact" on future market adoption, blockchain infrastructure and usage scenarios. He also said the CLARITY Act will eventually become law, in line with the broader trend of technological innovation being adopted, regulated and integrated into daily society.
However, Van der distinguishes between long-term regulatory developments and factors that can drive the crypto market cycle in the short term. In his view, investors do not have to wait for regulatory clarity to experience significant capital inflows.
Focus on capital flows and emotions
