A query on Jupiter's token interface on Wednesday for the word "SHIB" returned 20 results. Two of them fully use the symbol "SHIB" and are marked as verified in the list:

• Shiba Inu (Standard Bridge Edition), Address: shib5gSoVKPjwkXrxRk7SbQFzb2R9rQB3TgQWYX4RwW : 2,984 holders, approximately US$144,800 in liquidity.
• shibwifhat, address: F6qoefQ4iCBLONZ34RjEqHjHkD8vtmoRSdw9Nd55J1k : 23,693 holders, approximately US$59,500 in liquidity. This is a stand-alone memin that uses the same code and has existed on Solana for significantly longer.

Cast and Freeze Rights: Well-known rules of thumb are misleading here

There is a simple test rule circulated about Solana tokens and appears in many guides: both Mint Authority and Freeze Authority should be set to null. Casting permissions are addresses that allow more units to be created; freezing permissions are addresses that allow freezing of other people's balances. If both are empty, no one can coin more tokens or block any operations.

In the standard SHIB distribution on Solana, freeze permissions are null, but cast permissions are not null. This permission is part of the bridge program. This is part of how it works: Anyone who brings SHIB from Ethereum to Solana will have its units on Ethereum locked and the same number of tokens minted on Solana. On the way back, it was destroyed on Solana and re-released on Ethereum. Without active casting rights, bridging cannot do this.

In contrast, the minting authority of the memin coin shibwifhat is empty. Therefore, anyone who simply applies this rule of thumb will consider the bridged Shiba Inu suspicious, while other tokens are clean. For bridge tokens, active casting rights are normal. The real question is: Who holds it?

As long as the mint doors are open, more can be minted. This is exactly the ability that bridges must have.

Four decimal places on Solana vs. eighteen decimal places on Ethereum: source of errors in conversion

One difference appears outside of any announcement and pops up when you recalculate: Shiba Inu has 18 decimal places on Ethereum, while the Solana version has 4 digits. Decimal sets how many fractions a unit can be divided into and determines how the blockchain stores the original numbers.

In practice, this means that the same number of SHIBs in both chains of data appear as completely different raw numbers. Anyone manually copying position data from a block browser or interface into a spreadsheet without carrying decimal numbers will cause calculation errors of the order of fourteen digits. For tax returns and any personal position lists, this is the most likely source of error throughout the chain switch.

38.95 billion of 589 trillion SHIB: How small is Solana circulation

How many Shiba Inu are actually on Solana? The casting address itself answers this question. About 38.95 billion SHIBs were released there on Wednesday afternoon. At the same time, the total circulation supply is approximately 589 trillion SHIB.

This accounts for 0.0066%, or approximately one in every 15,100 SHIBs. The market value of the Solana distribution is approximately US$210,000, while the overall market value of Shiba Inu is approximately US$3.18 billion. Therefore, the new path is only a footnote in positions, rather than a market shift. Anyone who interprets the announcement as a price driver grossly overestimates its impact.

For scarcity arithmetic, there is no change in this step because no SHIBs have been added or disappeared. Funds deposited on Solana are locked on Ethereum. The resulting combustion balance was recalculated in the combustion amount analysis on October 5.

Cross-check casting addresses: How to verify the authenticity of SHIB before purchasing

The inspection process takes only two minutes and replaces all rules of thumb. The program works for any Solana token and is not limited to this:

1. Get the address and don't search for it. Obtain the casting address from a source that belongs to the project, such as the project's official channel, and match it with a separate token registry. 2. Complete comparison. Check the complete string, not just the beginning and end. Vanity addresses with the same beginning are cheap to generate.
3. Search by address in the application. Paste the address into Phantom, Jupiter, or other application instead of entering the code. This eliminates confusion, no matter how many tokens are called SHIBs.
4. View casting data. The decimal number, circulation, and two permissions are all in each Solana browser. The official process is described in the token verification section of the Solana documentation. For bridge tokens, expect active casting rights and ask which program it belongs to.
5. Try small amounts first. For the first time, send an amount so that the loss will not affect and check that it arrives at the expected casting address.

Base58 and 0x: Two address formats, an irreversible error

Ethereum addresses start with "0x" and consist of hexadecimal characters. The Solana address is written in Base58, which is a string of numbers and letters that does not contain the easily confusing character zero, upper case letter O, upper case letter I, and lower case letter l. These two formats cannot be converted to each other.

SHIB on Ethereum is ERC-20 token, and SHIB on Solana is SPL token. SPL stands for Solana Program Library, which is the standard for building tokens on Solana. Only knowing that Ethereum's wallet will not display Solana's position, and pure Solana wallets will not know that Ethereum's position is held.
