LTC Grayscale research director Zando Pandel supports Litecoin, reaching the 15th anniversary milestone of network operation
As the Litecoin creation block celebrates its 15th anniversary, Grayscale research director Zach Pandl publicly expressed support for the asset. According to reports, the Litecoin network has maintained uninterrupted and stable operation since its launch.
data shows that Litecoin processes approximately 156,000 transactions per day, and the number of LTC held in its MWEB privacy pool has exceeded 563,000, and the average transaction fee is only US$0.003. Meanwhile, Grayscale is seeking approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to convert its Litecoin trust products, which currently has net assets of approximately $97.56 million, into a spot ETF.
The market position and network data highlights of "old altcoins"
Pandel publicly expressed support for litecoin while Grayscale was applying for listing on the Arca section of the New York Stock Exchange. He pointed out that the discussion surrounding the anniversary of litecoin had grown abnormally, so he described the asset as an "OG altcoin" to emphasize its long-standing presence and early status in the cryptocurrency market.
This endorsement coincides with the 15th anniversary of Litecoin's Creation Block on October 7, 2011, and also echoes Grayscale's proposed spot ETF conversion plan. Since its launch in 2011, the Litecoin network has never interrupted operations. Online data as of October 7, 2026 shows that its average daily transaction volume is approximately 156,000.
In addition, Litecoin's MWEB privacy pool balance hit a new high of more than 563,000 LTC, adding another network milestone to the anniversary. According to network data in the report, average transaction fees remained at approximately $0.003. These indicators also show that Litecoin's computing power reaches 2,671.43 TH/s, and the number of active addresses is 9.1 million. The report particularly emphasizes Litecoin's uninterrupted record of operating in its 15-year history, which is one of its core characteristics.
Grayscale promotes the conversion of spot ETFs to manage nearly $100 million in assets
Pander's remarks highlighted Litecoin's status as one of the earliest assets in the crypto market. His public support comes as Grayscale seeks regulatory approval by designing different trading structures for its mature litecoin products.
Currently, Grayscale manages the Litecoin Trust, an existing investment product based on the cryptocurrency, through the code LTCN. According to reported trust data, its net assets were US$97,560,938 and approximately 24.25 million shares outstanding.
In September this year, Grayscale submitted a revised application to regulators requesting that the trust be converted into a spot exchange-traded fund (ETF). The company's proposal requires a listing on NYSE Arca, but as of now, approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is still pending.
