Coinbase rebrands Base App to Coinbase Wallet

Coinbase is rebranding its "Base App" to "Coinbase Wallet," a reversal of a strategic adjustment approximately 14 months ago that aims to position the self-managed product as a multi-chain trading hub rather than a social-centered platform.

Branding reflects a shift in strategic focus

Ryan Kass, product leader at Coinbase Wallet, said that the restoration of the original name marks the company's intention to make a strategic transformation. "Reusing the name Coinbase Wallet means users can access any asset, no matter what blockchain it is located on, or whatever the brand attributes of the crypto asset." Kass said.
