Standard & Poor's Global led a US$110 million Series B financing, and several financial institutions and exchanges joined Kaiko

Kaiko, a cryptocurrency market data provider, has completed a US$110 million Series B financing led by S & P Global. This round of financing attracted co-investors including many financial institutions and digital asset industry participants.

Major institutions join Kaiko's financing round

Kaiko was established in 2014 and is headquartered in Paris. It mainly provides institutional clients with institutional-level cryptocurrency market data, analytical tools and index services. Its customer base includes banks, asset management companies, trading venues and other financial institutions. The company tracks data from more than 150 exchanges and protocols and aims to provide reliable information support for the digital asset ecosystem.

Major banks and financial companies participating in the US$110 million financing include BNP Paribas, Royal Bank of Canada and Susquehanna Private Equity Investments. Exchanges and venture capital institutions participating in the round include Coinbase Ventures, Nasdaq Ventures, Broadridge, Bpifrance and the Canton Foundation. The blockchain network Stellaris is also among investors. Old shareholders Anthemis, Point Nine and Revaia, who have participated in previous rounds of financing, also continue to participate in this latest round of investment.

Kaiko said that the company has obtained SOC1 and SOC2 Type 2 certifications from well-known four accounting firms, proving that its internal controls and compliance meet standards. In addition, Kaiko has been registered as a benchmark administrator under the EU Benchmark Regulation and is listed in the register of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).

Kaiko CEO Ambre Soubiran emphasized that this new US$110 million financing brings together heavyweights from all fields of the digital asset industry, and its business scope covers pricing, transactions, capital allocation to blockchain development and other aspects.

In addition to providing funding, new investors will also join the "Strategic Industry Working Group" chaired by Kaiko. The working group aims to give institutional investors a greater say in the data and infrastructure design needed to support tokenized products and on-chain capital markets.

Expansion Strategies and Industry Priorities

Kaiko plans to invest the newly raised funds in two main areas: continuing to expand its digital asset data solutions and developing underlying infrastructure for on-chain capital markets. This product aims to promote the full operation of tokenized products in the real market.

Cathy Clay, CEO of S & P Dow Jones Indices, said the financing reflects the group's increasing emphasis on digital assets and its commitment to further growth in this field.

This new round of investment marks a significant increase in institutional interest. As financial giants turn their attention to cryptocurrency infrastructure and analytics to support the development of next-generation capital markets, related investment is accelerating.

Kaiko previously received US$53 million in the last round of Series B financing in 2022, almost doubling the size of this new US$110 million financing.

Given the participation of well-known banks, trading companies and digital asset companies, Kaiko's latest financing is expected to accelerate its technology research and development process and further expand its influence in the rapidly growing digital asset data field.
