New York payment company HIFI completes US$37 million in Series A financing, led by Left Lane Capital
Recently, HIFI, a New York-based payment company, successfully completed a sizable round of financing. The company announced that it had raised $37 million in Series A funding led by Left Lane Capital. Although HIFI defines this as its first pricing financing round, it has not disclosed specific valuation details.
HIFI is committed to building infrastructure that connects capital flows, compliance management and settlement processes. Its system architecture spans traditional banking networks and digital assets. According to the company's disclosure, its business currently covers 87 countries around the world, and its annualized transaction volume has exceeded US$7 billion.
New cooperation between DTCC Transaction and Visa paves the way for financing
Two recent important measures have laid a solid foundation for this financing. In July this year, HIFI participated in a production environment test transaction organized by the Depository, Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC). More than 30 institutions, including BlackRock, Goldman Sachs and Nasdaq, participated in the deal. These transactions cover treasury bond settlement, repurchase settlement, equity transactions, securities lending and collateral operations using tokenized securities. It is reported that DTCC plans to officially launch its tokenization service in October 2026.
In addition, HIFI also reached a new cooperation agreement with Visa earlier this month. The partnership extends HIFI's stablecoin settlement system to bankcard-based payment scenarios. Customers can now directly convert their USDC holdings into payments and send them to Visa debit and credit cards. The Visa network has more than 4 billion card users worldwide.
Stability coin trading volume climbed against the trend, and the market performed strongly.
HIFI's financing comes at a time when stablecoin growth is strong. Data shows that in the past year to June 2026, cross-border stablecoin transfers increased by 77.5% year-on-year to US$220.3 billion. This significant growth occurred against the backdrop of a reduction in the size of the entire crypto market by more than one-third during the same period, highlighting the independent resilience of the stablecoin field.
At present, the total supply of stablecoins in the industry has exceeded the US$295 billion mark. Among them, Tether's USDT accounted for approximately US$183.4 billion, and Circle's USDC accounted for nearly US$76 billion. Unlike algorithmic stablecoins, which rely on algorithms to automatically adjust supply, both giants maintain their pegs to the US dollar through cash and asset reserves.
Visa data confirms the trend of stablecoin adoption
Visa data released this month also shows similar positive momentum. The company said its stablecoin settlement volume has reached an annualized operating rate of US$20 billion, a more than 15-fold increase from a year ago. In the most recent fiscal quarter, there were more than 160 active stableco-related bank card projects around the world, and the total amount of payments made through these projects surged by nearly 200% year-on-year.
In addition, an independent survey released by Visa on Wednesday found that 56% of U.S. adults would use stablecoins if they provided bank-level fraud protection and deposit insurance; in the absence of these protections, the proportion dropped to 36%. This shows that security mechanisms are a key factor in increasing public acceptance.
