为何特朗普政府押注稳定币？
顾名思义，稳定币是一种旨在保持价值稳定的加密货币。与比特币（BTC）等价格波动剧烈的主流加密货币不同，稳定币通过与相对稳定的资产（如国家法定货币）挂钩来维持其价值稳定。
例如，Tether发行的USDT和Circle Internet Group（纽约证券交易所代码：CRCL）发行的USDC稳定币均与美元1:1挂钩。因此，一枚USDT或USDC的价值等同于1美元纸币。稳定币发行商持有美国国债作为储备以支持其代币，这也是将美元挂钩的稳定币称为“数字美元”的原因。
美元是国际交易中最常用的结算货币。当传统金融系统在周末或长假期间停止服务时，这些“数字美元”能为商家提供及时的结算支持。得益于全天候运行的特性，美元挂钩的稳定币能够以快速、安全且经济的方式完成交易结算。
The Trump administration quickly realized the potential of stablecoins to consolidate the dollar's global reserve asset status. In July last year, the U.S. government signed the "Guiding National Innovation Act with the U.S. stablecoins"(GENIUS Act). The law requires stablecoin issuers to hold reserves, including U.S. dollars and short-term Treasury bonds.
In February this year, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that stablecoins could become "an important tool for financing the U.S. government."
The government explores public-private partnerships to promote the use of stablecoins
According to Bloomberg, people familiar with the matter revealed that the U.S. government is considering establishing joint ventures with private companies to promote the use of stablecoins overseas. The move could involve multiple agencies, including the Treasury Department, the State Department and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). The DFC is a federal agency that works with private sector entities to advance U.S. foreign policy goals.
