BTC CoinMarketCap acquires CoinGlass to strengthen derivatives data layout
CoinMarketCap has officially completed its acquisition of CoinGlass. CoinGlass is a derivatives data platform popular among traders, allowing users to monitor open interest contracts, capital rates, clearing status and option data on major exchanges. Although the specific financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, the integration marks a joining force between the two major cryptocurrency data giants.
CoinGlass's core values and market position
CoinGlass was established in 2019 and currently tracks 28 exchanges and more than 2,500 trading products around the world. It has 5 million monthly active users and more than 10,000 API clients. Given that derivatives account for the vast majority of cryptocurrency trading volume, CoinGlass has become the resource of choice for active traders to interpret market structure and position movements.
The acquisition will give CoinMarketCap users deeper leveraged positions and market risk analysis capabilities, combining price tracking with derivatives analysis. As futures markets increasingly influence the short-term volatility of cryptocurrencies, this integration is crucial to understanding market dynamics.
CoinGlass user services remain unchanged
CoinGlass confirms that it will continue to operate under an independent brand. Its website, applications, free tools, API interfaces and pricing strategy remain the status quo. For the platform's 10,000 API customers, the continuity of this service is as important as its ownership changes.
