SHIB Shiba Inu Coin (SHIB) fell about 5%, and massive token destruction failed to offset market weakness.
On Wednesday, Shiba Inu Coin (SHIB) prices fell about 5%. Despite the sharp increase in token destruction, the move failed to offset the weakness of the broader crypto market and selling pressure from leveraged traders.
The decline came shortly after SHIB again failed to break through the US$0.00006 resistance zone. This resistance level has repeatedly suppressed the recent rebound trend. In a recent SHIB price forecast, analysts pointed out that if buyer momentum loses, the US$0.000055 to US$0.000056 range will become the next important support level. At present, this downward scenario is unfolding.
Large-scale destruction failed to support SHIB prices
In recent days, the destruction rate of SHIB has soared, mainly due to the removal of nearly 298 million SHIBs from circulation in a single transaction. However, the market's response to prices has been quite weak.
This continues the pattern that emerged earlier this month: the destruction rate of SHIB surged by more than 17,000%, but the token still failed to break the US$0.00006 mark.
The key to the problem is scale. Since there are still approximately 589 trillion SHIBs in circulation, even if hundreds of millions of tokens are destroyed, it will only account for a very small portion of the total supply. While destruction operations help support long-term narratives of scarcity, short-term price movements are much more sensitive to demand, liquidity, and overall crypto market sentiment.
