StoneX's global macro director warns of stock market risks and is optimistic about Bitcoin and gold

Vincent Deluard, StoneX's global macro director, expressed concern that several major financial indicators have hit potential turning points. He pointed out that rising U.S. Treasury yields, continued fluctuations in oil prices and the fragility of the yen carry trade are all signals of increasing instability in global markets. He also warned that the stock market may soon experience more severe turmoil.

Market outlook remains uncertain

Despite these warning signs, de Louar believes financial markets are expected to remain stable in the short term. He noted that upcoming events-including the U.S. midterm elections and the high-profile IPO of AI company Anthropic-will support stock market performance to some extent. [TAG

However, he insists that the long-term upward trend driven by endless capital spending on AI and related technologies cannot continue indefinitely at the current rate. "AI capex can't double forever," de Louillard said, hinting that the tech sector's growth potential may be slowing soon. [TAG

After November, he said, he would adopt a more cautious equity investment strategy and shift his preference to defensive assets. De Louar expects increased stock market pressure and points to a more optimistic outlook for alternative stores of value.

Preference for Bitcoin and gold as hedging instruments

Against the background of changing market conditions, De Louar made it clear that he preferred Bitcoin and gold as strategic hedging assets. He believes that given the rise in U.S. government debt and the resurgence of quantitative easing, these two assets are expected to benefit from continued monetary expansion and potential currency depreciation.

In an analysis of the comparative advantages of Bitcoin and gold, De Luar pointed out that in an environment where fiat risks are prominent, each asset has unique advantages. He expects both asset classes to perform well if traditional markets come under further pressure.

De Louar observed that rising U.S. Treasury yields may signal a long-term trend of depreciation of the dollar, and a new round of quantitative easing may boost the prices of bitcoin and gold as investors seek safe haven.

European debt crisis and global contagion risk

De Louillard also focuses on French bond markets and broader euro zone risks. He pointed to France's continuing debt problems and highlighted the possibility of triggering a chain reaction across Europe. In this climate, he believes shorting the euro may become an increasingly attractive strategy for some investors.

Daily U.S. tax collection data reveals more signs of economic strain, further highlighting the importance of monitoring bond market pressures and macroeconomic trends in real time.

AI industry growth and meme token market dynamics

The growing influence of artificial intelligence and robotics raises the question: Can innovation solve the United States 'long-term structural debt challenge? However, de Louar suspects that technological progress alone will not be enough to offset the underlying fiscal imbalance.

Just as it is crucial to monitor technical signals such as contraction patterns or key resistance levels in traditional assets, close attention to the meme token market can also provide crucial insights. In the meme token space, Internet viral trends can quickly transform into huge trading activity. Data showed that a recent transaction involving "Niu Lai" tokens converted a $99 investment into approximately $370,000 in gain, highlighting the speed at which wealth transfers in these markets.

Looking ahead, De Louar remains cautious about the stock market, but is significantly optimistic about digital and real assets that are seen to be better able to withstand monetary and economic shocks.
