ETH 为何 Aztec 要重新推出 zk.money？

自初代 zk.money 以来发生了什么变化？
The original version of zk.money will be launched in 2021 and will cease to operate in 2023. During this period, the wallet attracted more than 75,000 individual wallet addresses and processed more than $100 million in transaction volume. Andrews said the decision to close the original product was not due to insufficient demand for private payments. Conversely, early infrastructure was difficult to scale and could not support global scale use.
"We stopped services in 2023 not because the theory of private payments failed, but because the infrastructure they required did not exist at the time," Andrews said. In the following years, Aztec Labs worked on developing Aztec Network, a decentralized Layer 2 network designed to support privacy applications on Ethereum. Currently, the Aztec Foundation oversees the network, while Aztec Labs continues to build open source privacy products on top of it. The company said the new infrastructure provides developers with greater flexibility through Noir, a programming language developed by Aztec for zero-knowledge applications.
Investor Perspective
The return of zk.money reflects the broader trend of making blockchain applications more private while adhering to self-custody. The challenge for Aztec is whether privacy-focused products can appeal to mainstream users under increasingly stringent regulatory scrutiny.
How does the new version of zk.money wallet work?
