BlackRock launched large-scale Bitcoin purchases, with a net increase of approximately US$1.57 billion during the month.

According to information disclosed by online data tracking platform Arkham, asset management giant BlackRock has accumulated net purchases of approximately US$1.57 billion in bitcoins through its iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) in the past month. This significant purchase of spree further consolidates its leading position in the crypto asset space.

Nearly US$200 million in a single day and Friday

BlackRock's buying rhythm is particularly eye-catching at certain moments. On October 2, 2026, BlackRock's IBIT ETF absorbed 2,309.6 bitcoins directly from Coinbase Prime, with a valuation of approximately US$196.6 million. This single-day inflow is enough to offset the significant redemption pressure from rival funds and push the overall capital flow of U.S. Bitcoin ETF back into positive range. On the same day, the category recorded a net inflow of $102.67 million.

This Friday's buying behavior is in line with a typical pattern of ETF-driven capital flows, where new investor funds are deployed into the market almost daily. Data from Arkham Intelligence shows that BlackRock has continued to buy bitcoins during most of the ETF trading session over the past month.

The recent increase in holdings follows a strong rebound in Bitcoin prices, which once climbed above $84,000.

Positions exceed 800,000 Bitcoin mark
