The Zcash Foundation joins Project Eleven to jointly shape an institution-level hosting infrastructure for the post-quantum and AI era.

As more than US$1 trillion in digital assets are at risk of being attacked by sufficiently powerful quantum computers, the Zcash Foundation officially joins Project Eleven, committed to building a security architecture that adapts to the future.

New York, October 7, 2026 -Project Eleven, a company focusing on post-quantum security of digital assets, today released its flagship hosting platform Strongpoint. The platform is specifically designed to meet the challenges of the transition to backward quantum cryptography. The Zcash Foundation joined the project as an initial development partner to help shape Strongpoint's institution-level hosting architecture.

Strongpoint aims to provide organizations with a unified layer of control to securely manage and protect digital assets as encryption standards are changed in the underlying network. Without having to rebuild the key management, transaction approval, and audit infrastructure for each new signature scheme or network migration, organizations can maintain a common set of security controls while the underlying cryptography evolves.

Alex Pruden, CEO of Project Eleven, said: "Institutional digital asset custody is built in a world where the underlying cryptography has rarely changed. However, quantum computing is disrupting this model. If each network adopts a different solution, organizations may be forced to repeatedly rebuild their security infrastructure. Strongpoint is built around 'crypto-agility', so that changes in cryptography do not have to be accompanied by simultaneous changes in infrastructure."

Alex Bornstein, executive director of the Zcash Foundation, pointed out: "Institutions holding blocked ZECs (Zcash) need a hosting infrastructure that respects the current Zcash privacy model and adapts as encryption standards change. Project Eleven is building Strongpoint with the required cryptographic agility and technical foundation to support these long-term needs, strengthening hosting infrastructure in the broader ecosystem."

Zcash Foundation becomes initial development partner

Zcash Foundation joins as an initial development partner of Strongpoint, bringing its expertise in privacy protection cryptography and protocol engineering to Strongpoint's institution-level hosting architecture. Zcash's privacy protection design introduces complex key management and transaction requirements, making it an ideal environment for developing a managed infrastructure capable of supporting evolving encryption standards.

This collaboration will help clarify how Strongpoint handles the requirements of specific networks, while maintaining a consistent institutional control framework across different assets and encryption schemes.

Post-quantum migration is heading for different paths

Post-quantum transformation of the digital asset industry is becoming a coordination challenge. When Project Eleven analyzed networks in CoinGecko's top 20 Layer 1 (L1) category by market capitalization, it found that only 10 networks had issued technical proposals, roadmaps, or implementation paths for the network to migrate transactions or account authentication to post-quantum cryptography.

These methods cover at least six proposed post-quantum signature schemes and have significant differences in addressing account migration, key rotation and legacy asset recovery. Even when a technology roadmap exists, operational readiness is uneven, resulting in organizations needing to navigate different standards and requirements between different networks.

For organizations operating across multiple networks, this fragmentation means that they must adapt to different encryption standards and migration requirements without abandoning a consistent security model. Strongpoint is designed to provide this common operating layer while allowing the underlying cryptography to change independently.

Early Access and Deployment Plan

Project Eleven targets production deployment in the fourth quarter of 2026 and is already working with a limited group of development partners ahead of general availability. Additional development partners and support networks will be announced later. Institutions interested in making early visits can obtain more information.

Project Eleven was founded in 2024 by Alex Pruden and Conor Deegan and completed a $20 million Series A financing led by Castle Island Ventures in January 2026, with a total financing amount of $26 million. The company recently acquired Riva Labs, an engineering company with deep expertise in post-quantum signatures, wallet infrastructure and blockchain cryptography, further expanding Project Eleven's internal research and protocol engineering capabilities.

Methodology description

Project Eleven reviewed the top 20 assets by market value in the CoinGecko Layer 1 (L1) category on September 25, 2026. A network is counted only when an official network organization, foundation, core development team, or recognized protocol improvement process publishes a technical proposal, roadmap, or implementation path for the network to migrate transactions or account authentication to post-quantum cryptography hours. General R & D projects, statements of intent, and post-quantum work that does not explicitly specify such migration paths are not counted. Contains draft technical proposals, but this does not imply approval or adoption of the network.
