SOL Chainlink (LINK) prices have increased significantly, but on-chain data shows new address growth lags
Chainlink (LINK) has experienced significant price increases since early September, but on-chain data shows that activity in new wallet addresses has not kept pace with the increase in token value.
Prices are rising faster than address growth
On-chain analytics firm Santimony reported that LINK prices rose by about 24% between September 1 and October 6. Despite the strong rebound, the number of new LINK addresses created increased only slightly over the same period.
Sanitation data shows that in the first four weeks ending October 6, the average number of new LINK addresses per day was 1,249. This is only a slight increase from the average of 1,225 new addresses added per day in the previous four weeks, an increase of less than 2%.
Comparative analysis ofwith other major cryptocurrencies reveals different patterns. Over a similar time frame, Solana (SOL) saw a 33% increase in new addresses, while prices increased by 20%. In contrast, although Ethereum (ETH) has increased in value by approximately 11%, its growth in new addresses has been very limited.
Sanitation pointed out that LINK's user engagement growth has failed to match its positive price movements, which distinguishes it from competitors such as Solana.
