XRPL上每万亿笔交易可永久销毁1亿枚XRP

XRPL's initial issuance is locked: 100 billion XRPs, and no additional issuance will be issued.

XRP Ledger (XRPL) set a fixed supply of 100 billion XRPs at the time of launch. This means that no new coins will enter circulation in the future.

On social media platform X, cryptocurrency commentator Pumpius (@pumpius) specifically quantified the significance of this fixed supply in conjunction with the expansion of the network to continuous, AI-driven high-load scenarios. He particularly emphasized XRPL's fee destruction mechanism: every transaction fee incurred on the XRPL network will be permanently destroyed.

Fee destruction mechanism and scale effect

The basic transaction fee of XRPL is 10 drops (the smallest unit of XRP). When the network load is high, the fee per transaction increases to 100 drops. Pumpius calculated the impact of scale: "At this higher rate level, for every trillion transactions processed, 100 million XRPs will be destroyed." These destroyed supplies will never return to the market.

AI agents are driving real data growth

AI transactions are no longer a theoretical assumption. Through the x402 agreement, XRPL has completed 10.8 million AI agent payments in less than three months, after its milestone of 1 million payments was achieved in a short time. Currently, the average daily transaction volume exceeds 500,000 transactions, involving more than 2000 real-time services and APIs.

AI agents use ledgers to pay for reasoning services, data access and financial APIs independently without manual intervention. The currencies used include XRP or RLUSD. As Pumpius points out: "AI agents don't sleep, and institutional clearing doesn't wait for work hours." This large-scale, all-weather continuous activity is an ideal environment for the cost destruction mechanism to produce compound interest effects.

Short-term target: 100 million transactions

Ripple President Monica Long has set specific goals for this trend. At the XRPL Seoul 2026 conference, she predicted that the number of AI proxy transactions on the ledger will reach 100 million. Compared with the current data of approximately 11 million, this represents a 10-fold increase. She said the booming development of AI-related activities has made her optimistic about growth potential.

If AI transactions reach this level, network load may accelerate destruction rates. At a rate of 100 drops per transaction, 1 trillion transactions would remove 1 billion XRPs from supply. Given that the total supply is only 100 billion yuan and cannot be replenished, XRP's liquid supply may shrink rapidly.

Supply no longer expands with demand

Pumpius clearly points out supply dynamics: "Supply does not increase to meet demand, it only contracts." This constraint has become increasingly important as the tokenized real-world assets on the ledger expand in parallel with the scale of AI payments. Long predicts that by 2027, the size of tokenized assets on XRPL will reach US$30 billion, much higher than the current US$6 billion and US$100 million at the beginning of 2025.

Real adoption changes the mathematical model

Pumpius said: "When there is almost no activity, 100 billion sounds like an infinite amount. But if the network was actually used, the situation would be very different." At the current transaction volume, the destruction volume is still moderate. However, if AI agency activity reaches the scale predicted by Long and institutional clearing brings stable basic demand, this situation will change quickly.
