Gina said her remarks were a rare true expression amid continued over-excitement. She pointed out that while prices may fluctuate significantly in the long run, investors should be prepared for potentially long journeys.
Historical Price Background of XRP
XRP was launched by Ripple Labs in 2012. It hit a record high of more than US$3 in January 2018, and then entered a long-term consolidation phase. It was not until July 2025 that its price briefly touched US$3.65, returning to its previous level. For most of this period, XRP traded around $0.50.
Analysts attribute the stagnation mainly to a protracted legal dispute between Ripple and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which has created uncertainty in the market. Despite experiencing a significant rise in 2025, XRP has since pulled back and is currently trading at $1.40.
Investors who entered during the peak of 2018 waited more than seven years to see comparable price levels. Similarly, those buying at 2025 highs may need to face further delays before new highs occur.
Mixed reactions in the XRP community
Gina's comments sparked diverse responses. Some community members support her realism, admitting that many newcomers are attracted by exaggerated profit expectations. But others criticized her approach, questioning her motives and accusing her of being passive and pessimistic.
While some people agree with her cautious view, others claim that her posts lack factual basis, and some users even label them as pessimism or believe they contradict their past information.
Some supporters emphasize that there is still the potential for huge returns if you invest right and remain patient. Some users mentioned that in theory, if we invest US$1 billion and combine it with high leverage, we may achieve a tenfold return. At the same time, long-term holders expressed a firm belief that the ultimate breakthrough would reward their patience, and several of them even vowed to hold on for another decade if necessary.
