ZK ZKsync Lite is the first zero-knowledge Rollup network launched on Ethereum. The team stated that this network will be phased out next year, as it has fulfilled its purpose.
ZKsync sent a letter to X on Sunday, saying, “We plan to phase out ZKsync Lite (also known as ZKsync 1.0) in 2026. This is a planned and systematic process of retiring a system that has already accomplished its mission and will not affect any other ZKsync systems.”
The report also noted that ZKsync Lite “is a groundbreaking proof-of-concept that validates key concepts related to building production-level ZK systems.”
“It has fulfilled its mission: it demonstrated what is possible and paved the way for the next generation of technologies.”
The technology company Matter Labs introduced ZKsync Lite in 2020, aiming to enable fast transactions and the creation of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). However, it does not support smart contracts, which limits its applications.
This network uses proof of validity, ensuring that transactions are valid immediately before they are packaged and sent to the Ethereum mainnet for final verification.
Matter Labs ceased development of ZKsync Lite at the beginning of 2023, after introducing the zkEVM—a zero-knowledge Ethereum virtual machine that supports smart contracts.

相比之下，DefiLlama显示ZKsync Era在去中心化金融中锁定的总价值为3640万美元，而L2BEAT显示，在过去一天中，其用户操作次数超过22000次。
ZKsync区块链可能会迎来进一步的变革。上个月，联合创始人Alex Gluchowski提议对其ZKsync进行全面改造。ZK治理代币将优先考虑“经济效用”，并将代币与网络费用挂钩。
