Three SpaceXAI engineers will embark on an ambitious 72-hour live challenge: creating a complete startup using autonomous AI agents.
The Grok Bot Galaxy event will be held in San Francisco from September 15 to 17 and will provide free global live broadcast access.
Participants prepare from scratch-no pre-selected business concepts, product designs or company names.
Grok Bot represents SpaceXAI's autonomous proxy platform, which is different from the conversational Grok chatbot available on X (formerly Twitter).
The company stems from SpaceX's acquisition of xAI in February, when xAI was valued at US$250 billion.
The ability to understand Grok Bot
The core of this experiment is Grok Bot, SpaceXAI's autonomous proxy platform. Don't confuse this with the user's interactions with the conversational Grok chatbot on X.
Grok Bot enables users to develop customized AI agents, assign identities and goals to them, and then activate them on a variety of applications and web platforms. These agents run on dedicated cloud infrastructure and can perform complex sequential tasks continuously without interruption.
The three key players plan to utilize Grok Bot throughout the conception phase, strategic planning meetings, product development discussions, and technology implementation. Other SpaceXAI team members will contribute to addressing key aspects of sales strategy, customer service operations and marketing initiatives.
The platform has been publicly available for about a month.
Background and Context of SpaceXAI
SpaceXAI emerged after SpaceX acquired xAI in an all-stock deal that established a market value of $250 billion. The company subsequently purchased coding platform Cursor for $60 billion in August.
Elon Musk made bold public statements about Grok's capabilities this year. Three consecutive days of building under camera is a greater challenge than making edited presentation videos.
However, this is still an internal company test to promote its own technology. Observers will pay close attention to the frequency with which human participants intervene, correct errors, or override AI agents.
The demonstration coincided with a week after rival Anthropic released results of a survey on abuse patterns of its Claude AI model, reviewing concerns about cyberattacks and fraudulent activity. Musk admitted that Grok has not yet become the first choice in some competing categories.
As AI agents operate on their own, the industry's broader concerns about accountability and oversight continue, and there is no clear solution.
When the live broadcast ends on September 17, viewers will get a clear answer: Did the team successfully create a practical product with real users, or did they just create brand elements and basic websites?
