Samsung Electronics integrates Solana stablecoin payment capabilities into 82 million Galaxy phones in the United States
Samsung Electronics announced that it will integrate Solana-based stablecoin payment capabilities into 82 million Galaxy smartphones in the United States, a move aimed at further expanding its digital asset ecosystem and enriching payment features.
Solana cooperates to achieve cross-border stablecoin payments
The Solana Foundation stated that Samsung has established a partnership with the organization to introduce cross-border payment services based on USDC stablecoin through Samsung Wallet. The new features are expected to be available to users in the last week of October 2026. Users can send or receive digital dollars internationally without installing a separate cryptocurrency application.
Transactions will be processed in the background using Solana's blockchain infrastructure, while the application itself provides a legal currency deposit and deposit channel, allowing users to efficiently exchange between stablecoins and local currencies. Samsung pointed out that eligible users can directly send USDC to compatible crypto wallets without incurring fees from Samsung for the transfer. In addition, the system also supports money transfers to qualified bank accounts in more than 60 countries around the world, but transfer fees may be charged for such transactions.
Samsung has integrated Solana USDC payment capabilities into Galaxy devices, streamlining the international transaction process and providing millions of users in the United States with seamless access to digital dollars. The first batch of coverage includes 82 million Samsung Wallet-compatible Galaxy devices in the United States. Users must meet eligibility standards and complete authentication steps before using them.
Explanation of terms: The Solana Foundation is a non-profit organization responsible for developing and supporting the Solana blockchain. This is a high-performance blockchain designed for fast, low-cost transactions.
New cooperation and rapid expansion of stablecoins
In addition to Solana, Samsung is also working with Coinbase, a leading U.S. -based cryptocurrency exchange, and payment infrastructure company Bastion to enhance its stablecoin custody and payment capabilities. Under the plan, USDC reserves will be held by Coinbase Prime, while Samsung is integrating the Sui blockchain to expand its in-app stablecoin usage scenarios.
This integration comes at a time when stablecoin activity on Solana's network is surging. According to the Solana Foundation, the total supply of stablecoins on Solana has increased by nearly 20% in the past year. Since the beginning of 2026, the size of stablecoin transactions on Solana has exceeded US$5.25 trillion.
Samsung's Evolving Encryption Strategy
In recent years, Samsung has made frequent moves in the fields of blockchain and cryptocurrency. As early as 2019, with the release of its flagship Galaxy S10 model, Samsung launched the "Samsung Blockchain Keystore", allowing users to securely store cryptocurrency private keys on mobile devices. The subsequent launch of Samsung Blockchain Wallet allows users to manage digital assets and interact with decentralized applications.
By 2021, Samsung will further expand its blockchain ecosystem by being compatible with hardware wallets such as Ledger Nano S and Nano X. At that time, the scope of support covered Bitcoin, Ethereum, wavefield and many tokens, improving the security and convenience for users to obtain cryptocurrency.
Recently, Samsung has deepened its cooperation with Coinbase. In July 2025, Samsung Pay reached a partnership with Coinbase to enable eligible users to purchase cryptocurrency and recharge their transaction accounts through the Samsung payment application. In October 2025, the cooperation between the two parties further deepened, and Samsung Wallet users received Coinbase One subscription promotions and other related cryptocurrency benefits.
From early private key storage solutions to today's seamless integration of stablecoin payments on millions of Galaxy phones, Samsung's commitment to blockchain technology is deepening.
