Wal-Mart strengthens its business operations in California
Wal-Mart's (WMT) shares rose 2.22% to $110.56 after the California hub opened.
Wal-Mart opened its fifth advanced fulfillment center in Stockton, California.
This 900,000-square-foot New California facility will create more than 1000 jobs.
Advanced automation technology shortens the fulfillment process at Wal-Mart warehouses to five steps.
Wal-Mart aims to provide next-or two-day delivery to 95% of U.S. consumers.
Wal-Mart (WMT) shares closed up 2.22% at $110.56 on Thursday, reaching an intraday high of $110.96 (up $2.40), and fell slightly 0.03% after hours at $110.52. The retailer has opened a new fulfillment center in Stockton, California, expanding its West Coast distribution network. The facility will create more than 1000 jobs and improve Wal-Mart's ability to process online orders.
Wal-Mart expands California fulfillment network
Wal-Mart has opened its fifth next-generation fulfillment center in California's Central Valley, covering more than 900,000 square feet. The new Stockton location strengthens the company's distribution operations in California and surrounding western states. Its location also puts inventory closer to customers, supporting faster shipping speeds in the region.
