The number of wallets holding tokenized goods soared to 452,931, with XAUT and ETFs leading the growth.

According to the latest data from the analysis platform rwa.xyz, the number of wallets holding tokenized goods has reached 452,931. This number is a 3.6-fold increase compared with approximately 126,000 wallets a year ago. Much of the expansion has occurred in the past few weeks, highlighting the accelerating interest in tokenized assets.

The number of holders has surged in recent months

Since early August, approximately 200,000 new wallets have joined the tokenized goods space. In comparison, in the ten months before this, only about 126,000 wallets were added. Digital asset investment firm ParaFi estimates that holders of PAXG and XAUT have grown by 65% throughout 2025, while the broader industry has expanded by 79% in the past nine weeks.

Although instrument holders are tracked by wallet addresses rather than personal identities, which means a user may control multiple wallets, this rapid growth is still clearly reflected in the overall trend in the industry.

Tether Gold surpasses Paxos Gold

Wallet holders of Tether Gold (XAUT) have experienced extraordinary growth over the past year. Their number rose from 12,233 at the end of last year to 74,544 in August, and further surged to the current 143,973. In the latest statistics, it has about 31,000 more holders than Paxos Gold (PAXG).

Matrixdock Gold ranks third with 63,922 holders. XAUT, PAXG and Matrixdock Gold together account for approximately 71% of all wallets in the tokenized goods space.

This is a digital representation of traditional securities issued on the blockchain, providing partial ownership and greater accessibility to a wider investor base.

Oil, silver and copper have attracted increased attention

While gold-backed tokens still account for approximately 90% of wallet holders in the sector, tokens that track oil, silver, copper and rare earths have attracted a total of 42,000 holders since the summer.

Robinhood's tokenized U.S. Crude Oil Fund (USO) has 15,211 holders. The iShares Silver Trust, distributed across Robinhood and Ondo, has approximately 18,900 wallets. Ondo's tokenized U.S. copper index fund has expanded rapidly, surging from 26 holders in August to 2,371 currently. These products have been almost unadopted until recent months.

Ethereum accounts for most of the value, and users are dispersed across chains

Ethereum remains the dominant blockchain for tokenized goods, hosting US$4.92 billion of the field's total market value of US$5.16 billion. BNB Chain, the second largest chain, holds US$85.1 million, followed by Arbitrum, holding US$83.5 million.

Chain Market Value Number of Holders Ethereum $4.92 billion 183,776 BNB Chain $85.1 million 94,289 Arbitrum $83.5 million Thousands Plume N/A 62,157 Solana N/A 62,154 Robinhood N/A 40,713

In terms of the number of wallets, Ethereum accounts for approximately 41% of all holders and owns 183,776 wallets. BNB Chain supports 94,289 holders, Plume and Solana each have more than 62,000, and Robinhood has 40,713 wallets. Ethereum's wallets tend to hold larger, longer-term positions, while the wallets of BNB Chain, Solana and Robinhood typically contain smaller, retail investor positions. Arbitrum is an exception among smaller networks, which maintains a high market value with relatively few holders.

Long-term and large gold holdings are still concentrated on Ethereum. At the same time, new users are increasingly adopting lower-cost blockchains and broker-style tokens with smaller balances, causing the number of wallets to grow faster than the mass exit of funds from Ethereum.

In recent weeks, the growth of tokenized ETFs and stocks has pushed their share of overall wallet holders across the industry from 8% to 23%. Gold-backed tokens still dominate, but products that track oil, silver and copper are rapidly gaining adoption.
