Drift opens a DFX claim application, with the first payment amount of approximately 1% of the loss

The Drift Foundation opens DFX claims and redemptions, with approximately 3.11 million USDT available for distribution.

In response to the vulnerability attack in April, the Drift Foundation has officially opened the DFX (Drift Recovery Token) claims and redemption channel. There is currently a pool of approximately USDT 3.11 million currently available for allocation, with an initial redemption rate of approximately 1% of verified losses.

Core Mechanism and Token Economy

According to the foundation's announcement, eligible wallets will receive one DFX token for every verified loss corresponding to 1 USDT. In the initial stage, approximately 0.0104 USDT can be redeemed per DFX token, and the redeemed tokens will be permanently destroyed. Funding for this recovery will come mainly from Velocity agreement revenue, Tether support, partner capital and any recovered stolen assets.

The claims window will close on January 1, 2028, when all unused DFX tokens will be permanently destroyed. The Drift Foundation announced on October 1 that affected users can choose to receive allocated tokens, exchange them for USDT, or retain their share of future recovery funds. According to the terms of the issue, the total supply of DFX is approximately 299.5 million pieces, and no additional coins will be minted.

Calculation of redemption ratio

According to the foundation's calculation formula, the redemption amount of each token is equal to the USDT balance in the "recovery pool" divided by the total outstanding DFX supply. The initial exchange rate announced by Drift is approximately 0.0104 USDT per token. This means that if the user's loss claim amount is 1,000 USDT, the initial redeemable amount is approximately 10.40 USDT.

For users who choose to redeem, token destruction and USDT payment will be completed in the same transaction, ensuring that both succeed or fail at the same time. The foundation's instructions clarify that redemption operations are irrevocable and that payouts (payment amount) will be rounded down to the nearest 0.00001 USDT.

In addition, since DFX is a standard Solana token, holders can also transfer it or trade it on a decentralized exchange such as Raydium. The publicly disclosed redemption amount determines the fixed payout received from the pool, while the selling price in the secondary market depends on the market transaction price.

Historical Background and Recovery Plan

In the recovery plan released on May 5, Drift separated the recovered assets from its DRIFT governance token and set a cumulative funding target of USDT of 295,426,725.97. The plan states that once the total inflow reaches this target, revenue contribution will cease and the remaining tokens can be redeemed at full value or higher.

Drift's explanatory document states that early redemption will deprive the holder of claims on subsequent deposits. For example, destroying 10% of the supply would give each remaining token a larger share of approximately 11% in each future contribution.

Claim requests and time windows

For first claims, the foundation requires users to connect to the wallet that controls their Drift account on April 1. The operating guidelines also require users to have a small amount of SOL to pay for network fees and accept DFX terms before approving a claim transaction.

Velocity 收入支持每日恢复存款

在新的资金安排下，Velocity 会在每天 UTC 时间 00:00 将部分每日净协议收入发送至恢复池。基金会规定：首 30,000 USDT 收入的 60%、30,000 至 100,000 USDT 区间的收入 70%，以及超过 100,000 USDT 部分的收入 90% 将注入池子。每个百分比仅适用于其所在区间内的收入。

在计算净协议收入之前，Velocity 会将净交易费用的 15% 分配给保险基金，另外 15% 分配给交易资本，剩余 70% 作为净协议收入。

基金会表示，Tether 已承诺提供高达 1.275 亿 USDT 用于重新上线和用户恢复，战略合作伙伴承诺提供高达 2,000 万 USDT。4 月的框架描述称，支持包包括与收入挂钩的信贷额度、生态系统赠款和做市商贷款。

被盗资产的追回
